SKIN TAG REMOVAL

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and look a bit like warts. They're very common, harmless, and can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm (about 2 inches) wide.
Skin tags are usually found on the face, neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.
Skin tags are made of loose collagen fibres and blood vessels surrounded by skin. Collagen is a type of protein found throughout the body.
Both men and women can develop skin tags. They tend to occur in older people and people have type 2 diabetes. Pregnant women may also be more likely to develop skin tags as a result of changes in their hormone levels. Some people develop them for no apparent reason.
Skin tags tend to grow in the skin folds, where the skin rubs against itself, such as on the neck, armpits or groin. This is why they tend to affect overweight people who have excess folds of skin and skin chafing.
DOES SKIN TAG REMOVAL HURT?
The treatment relatively painless and rarely requires any local anaesthetic. However, if the skin tag is large or you are concerned, a numbing cream can be applied before treatment. After treatment the skin left behind may be tender for a few days and will need to be covered. It is also best to use a strong sunscreen on the area.
IS SKIN TAG REMOVAL SAFE?
Skin tag removal is completely safe and is only carried out by a qualified Aesthetician in a clinical environment. We work to strict protocols exceeding all regulatory and clinical requirements.
WHERE ON MY BODY CAN I HAVE TREATMENT?
You can have a skin tag removed from anywhere on your body.
CAN I HAVE MY SKIN TAG REMOVED JUST BECAUSE I DON’T LIKE THE LOOK OF IT?
Unless your doctor feels there is a medical reason not to remove your skin tag, we are happy to remove your skin tag for cosmetic reasons. We remove skin tags for a lot of clients who cannot receive the treatment on the NHS.
WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?
The treatment will completely remove your skin tag; however there will be a small white scar where the removal took place.
WILL THE SKIN TAG GROW BACK?
The treatment will permanently remove the skin tag. However, this will not stop skin tags growing back in other areas in the future.
WHAT ARE SKIN TAGS?

They are made up of loose collagen fibres and blood vessels surrounded by skin. Collagen is a normal type of protein found throughout the body. Common in both men and women, around one in four people will develop a tag at some point in their lives.
HOW DO YOU GET SKIN TAGS?
Often mistaken for warts, they can appear anywhere on the body, but are typically found in areas where skin repeatedly rubs against itself, such as armpits, groin, neck and eyelids. Skin tags present no medical threat and don’t usually cause pain or discomfort. However, they can make people feel self-conscious and can hurt if caught on clothing. They can also cause issues for men when shaving.
HOW WILL I FEEL DURING SKIN TAG REMOVAL?
The treatment may cause very slight discomfort, but is usually very mild.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SKIN TAG REMOVAL?
There will be a small white scar where the skin tag has been removed. Other than that, complications are rare.
