WHAT EXACTLY IS DEMA-NEEDLING?

Derma-needling is a virtually painless procedure that will give you smoother, firmer, and younger looking skin.

 

Derma-needling treatment helps to repair the skin by using small needles. When passed over the skin, the needles create micro “injuries” in the skin to stimulate the fibroblast cells in your skin and to induce collagen production. Each micro “injury” creates a channel that triggers the body to produce new collagen and elastin to fill the microscopic wound. This tightens the skin, padding out pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

 

Derma-needling also assists skincare products like serum, which have a high molecular weight, to effectively penetrate the skin.

 

This procedure has no major side effects and beautiful results are noticeable in a short period of time.

HOW LONG DOES A DERMA-NEEDLING TAKE?

 

Derma-needling appointments normally last 45 mins to an hour, allowing time for you to get comfortable beforehand and to rebalance after laying down for an extended period.

 

CAN I COMBINE DERMA-NEEDLING WITH ANOTHER TREATMENT?

 

Yes! Derma-needling can be combined with many of our facials and body treatment, such as our BB Glow Semi Permanent Makeup or Shrinking Violet Wrap.

 

WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?

 

Derma-needling immediately improves the quality and texture of your skin, making your skin look rejuvenated. Whilst you will see an improvement after your first treatment, usually a course of treatments is recommended. The final results might not be noticeable until you hit the three to twelve months mark as boosting collagen and elastin within the dermis takes time. However, as with most treatments it depends on the individual. 

 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE DERMA-NEEDLING?

 

The number of treatments depends on your skin condition, but typically 3-5 treatments in 4-6 week intervals are recommended with maintenance treatments every 6-9 months.

 

HOW WILL I FEEL DURING DERMA-NEEDLING?

Most clients feel relaxed, and find derma-needling to be an enjoyable experience, especially when you are laying on our luxury heated treatment bed. A numbing cream will be used on your skin, so that you only feel a slight sensation during the treatment.  We regularly check that you are comfortable and enjoying the treatment.

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DERMA-NEEDLING?

​

Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and sweaty activity for 24 hours; this includes exercise of any kind.

Avoid products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) for 24 hours after treatment.

You may resume your regular skin care routine 24 hours after treatment.
